MYOB has been blocked in Windows 10 ( SOLVED )

Windows 10 blocked MYOB

This time I will share for you about Accounting software : MYOB version 18 that has been blocked on Windows 10. Windows 10 shows pop up error message " This app has been blocked for your protection." when i run Myob on Windows 10 Pro.

Below the solution that i have tried it before. There is two solutions that i have found on the internet.

Find Myob.exe.manifest

1. Find Myob.exe.manifest on “C:\Accounting18\” dir or directory path that you install MYOB, and then open with Notepad. Change level="HighestAvailable" to level="AsInvoker". Save and Close the file. Try to open again your MYOB.exe, if it's still  blocked you must continue to step number 2 below.
2. Find Myob.exe, right click and open Properties. Open Security tab, Edit – Add User, add Everyone user and set all Checked the Permission on Allow column. Click OK.
3. Open Myob.exe

In many case (Windows 10 32 bit or 64 bit), I found that only with step number 1 , the problem is solved. But in another case it failed, Windows 10 still blocked Myob app. But with step 1 and continue with step 2, I found a lot of success. So just try it. Good Luck.

There is another way , that you can find on the internet, that is edit the Registry :

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Edit (or create if not exist) DWORD (32-bit) Value:
EnableLUA
Base: Hexadecimal
The Default value data: 1

Edit the value data to 0

But I'm not recommended this solution, because having UAC enabled is additional protection from dangerous apps and viruses which can elevate silently if it is disabled and do anything malicious on your PC. Disable UAC can open security holes on your Windows and its a high risk.
